Orthodontic Treatment (Braces)

Fixed braces remain the most versatile way to correct crowding, spacing, protrusion and bite problems. Brackets bonded to each tooth and a light continuous archwire move teeth in three dimensions with a level of control that no removable appliance can match — including in growing children where the jaw relation itself needs guiding.

Common questions

Orthodontic Treatment (Braces) — your questions answered

What is the right age to start?

Around 11–14 for most children, when the permanent teeth are in and growth can still be used. Adults can be treated successfully at any age with healthy gums.

Do braces hurt?

Tenderness for two to three days after bonding and after each adjustment. Soft food and a mild painkiller cover it.
