Teeth Whitening & Bleaching
Professional bleaching uses a controlled-strength peroxide gel applied only to the enamel while the gums are sealed under a protective barrier. It lifts years of tea, coffee, tobacco and age-related staining evenly across the smile line — something no whitening toothpaste or home hack can do safely.

- Treatment time
- 60 – 90 minutes
- Cost
- In-clinic session priced per arch; take-home kits available separately.
- Comfort
- Profound local anaesthesia, sterilised single-use kits and breaks whenever you need them.
Step by step
How the treatment works
- 1
Assessment
We check for cavities, exposed roots and existing crowns — those do not bleach and must be planned for.
- 2
Cleaning
Scaling first, so the gel contacts enamel and not deposits.
- 3
Isolation and gel
A gum barrier is cured in place, then the activated gel is applied in timed cycles.
- 4
Shade check
Final shade recorded against the starting shade and a desensitiser applied.

Recovery & aftercare
What to expect once you leave the chair
- Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, turmeric and tobacco for 48 hours
- Use a straw for coloured drinks that week
- Mild zingy sensitivity for a day or two is normal
- A top-up every 12–18 months keeps the shade
Common questions
Teeth Whitening & Bleaching — your questions answered
Will it damage my enamel?
Supervised bleaching at clinical concentrations does not soften enamel. Uncontrolled over-the-counter kits and DIY acids are what cause damage.
Will my crowns and fillings whiten too?
No — ceramic and composite keep their original shade. If they are in the smile line we plan to replace or match them after bleaching.
How long does it last?
Typically one to two years, depending on your diet and whether you smoke.
